The Depth of Tradition:
Crazy Creatures and Its Origin

Crazy Creatures are the embodiment of generations of craftsmanship and natural conditions of Lower Austria – a region that has been rooted in viticulture for nearly a millennium. These wines connect the deep roots of its vines with the historical roots of their production.
Shaped by Ice Ages and History
Lower Austria, shaped by ice ages and the mighty river Danube, offers a unique landscape that influences the character of the wine. Over millennia, frost and water have worn down rock and gravel into the finest minerals that settle in the soil, giving the grapes their distinctive quality.

IN
EVERY
SIP

The vines of the Crazy Creatures anchor themselves up to 30 meters deep in the soil, penetrating rock and layers of primal gravel to absorb nutrients and minerals. This depth allows the plants to reach moisture even in dry periods, contributing to the vibrant taste that captures the essence of the Danube region. Loess soils, shaped by wind, and mica schist, marked by extreme weather conditions, give the wine its characteristic mineral note and complex structure.

Knowledge Passed Down from
Generation to Generation
Our winery can look back on a 300-year tradition. The knowledge of growing and making wine is passed from generation to generation, with each generation gathering new experiences and contributing to continuously improving the quality and character of the wine.
As winemakers, we not only preserve old techniques but also integrate modern methods to make Crazy Creatures a true expression of its origin.

A Symbol of Regional Identity
Crazy Creatures emerges directly from the rich terroir of Lower Austria, embodying the unique cultural essence of the region. They represent both a piece of modern craftsmanship and a living tradition, serving as a testament to the natural forces that have shaped this very region. Every sip is a homage to the deep roots that are anchored both in the soil and in the culture of this remarkable Austrian wine region.
